We know about this since last week. MultiVerus is set to close its doors on May 30 and will be withdrawn from all online storefronts at the same time. That said, the game will still be playable, just not in online mode.

That said, Tony Huynh, the game's director, took the floor to thank Warner Bros., the rights holders of the various licenses and the development team. He had a word for fans too, but also for those who had used social networks to threaten the developers. Disappointed to learn of the game's shutdown, some players expressed their displeasure with very bad manners.

"I know that this is painful for everyone, and I know every member of PFG feels it too, but I have to call this out, you’re entitled to what you say and think, but when there are threats to harm it’s crossing the line. I hope that you can take a step back and realize that this is an extremely sad time for the team. I am in deep mourning for the game. Nobody wanted this outcome and it wasn’t from lack of caring or effort."
