Back on January 21, Sonic 3 already ranked in fifth place when it came to the highest-grossing video game adaptations in film history, but the blue hedgehog didn't stop there!

With $462 million in revenue, the third feature film based on Sonic now climbs to second place in the same ranking, only behind Super Mario Bros. and its $1.36 billion at the box office. However, Sonic 3 has surpassed Detective Pikachu, Warcraft and Rampage.
